The hot summer of 1996 was ideal for the ripening of the grapes in a vineyard located at an altitude of more than 800 meters.
A wine from a perfect vintage in the Duero and from a young vineyard that combines complexity, delicacy and unusual freshness.
Abadía Retuerta Special Selection 2001. A winning wine.
The spring frosts after the early sprouting of the vines marked the development of this mythical 2001 vintage. Low yields and a hot summer with periodic but very well distributed rainfall brought forward the harvest of an extraordinarily smooth and healthy grape.
Recognised as the best wine in the world at the IWC in London, it stands out for its firm structure, austerity and nobility.
