Abadía Retuerta Petit Verdot is a red wine D.O.P. Abadía Retuerta made from Petit Verdot. Normally used in small proportions to give energy to other varieties.
Abadía Retuerta has taken advantage of all the potential of this grape to create a unique and very original single-varietal wine. The powerful Castilian sun, a particular terroir with predominantly sandy soil and 19 months of aging in barrels give it an exquisite character
Tasting notes of Abadía Retuerta Petit Verdot
Abadía Retuerta Petit Verdot is an intense and velvety vermilion colour, on the nose it is fine, elegant and subtle, with hints of mocha. On the palate it is smooth and unctuous and immediately releases powerful and intense flavours of fresh and candied fruit with hints of roasted coffee, blond tobacco smoke, burnt caramel and crispy bread.
Firm and structured in body, it has a long, silky and warm finish on the palate. Its production is very limited and select. A treat for gourmets.
