Description
Bitter Rouge has a long history of production dating back to the early years of the last century, when it was produced by the historic wine cellar and liquor company "Baracco" at its premises in Via Nizza, Turin, Italy. In the 1960s, however, wine production was moved to the company's historic site in Castellinaldo d'Alba, Cuneo, where it continues today. On the other hand, the liqueur production was transferred to Valchiusella, a green and uncontaminated valley in Piedmont, known for its focus on wellness and ecology. It is there that the tradition of making Bitter Rouge and vermouth is maintained, using pure infusions and a delicate and efficient treatment of herbs.
Bitter Rouge has its roots in the flavour of spices from the African coast and Central and South America, which are harmonised and enhanced by the "savoir faire" of Turin. This bitter is excellent to enjoy on its own or blended following classic methods.
