Carmes de Rieussec 1990
D.O Sauternes
Semillón Sauvignon Blanc
Description
Carmes de Rieussec is a sweet wine made with Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc by Chateau Rieussec de Sauternes, in Bordeaux.
The main and most recurrent characteristic of this wine is its complex range of aromas, where the citrus base is the main actress.
Château Rieussec's 93-hectare vineyard is located at the crossroads of Fargues and Sauternes, and is adjacent to Château d'Yquemau. It is this location that allows the production of fine and elegant Sauternes wines, elevating Rieussec to the rank of the most important Sauternes and Barsac estates.
Carmes de Rieussec Tasting Notes
Very bright golden colour.
The nose, very open, announces a very fresh and light wine, with some caramel notes. There is also some citrus zest.
On the palate, the discreet attack acquires great amplitude, with a complex aromatic palette dominated by candied apricot and melon. A remarkable vintage.
