Château Cambon Beaujolais Nouveau 2023
D.O Beaujolais
Gamay
Description
Château Cambon Beaujolais Nouveau is a red wine made from Gamay in Beaujolais by the Château Cambon winery.
Every year, on the third Thursday of November, importers rush to distribute the iconic bottles so that sales begin at midnight.
Historically, Beaujolais Nouveau was a premium wine that producers drank to celebrate the end of the harvest season in the Beaujolais region. This wine was enjoyed young and fresh after a few weeks of fermentation.
Sourced from Château Cambon, partly owned by natural wine and Beaujolais legend Marcel Lapierre, it encompasses 13 hectares of Gamay varietal vineyards, mainly located in Morgon, with an additional small parcel in Cotes du Py. The average age of the vines is 60 years.
Château Cambon Beaujolais Nouveau Tasting Notes
Bright ruby color presents itself in the glass. Enveloping aromas of flowers and red fruits predominate. On the palate, red fruits and fruits such as cherries and strawberries are perceived, accompanied by a pleasant acidity and a fresh finish with notes of sour berries.
