Domaine Lafarge Bourgogne Passetoutgrain L'Exception 2020
D.O Burgundy
Gamay Pinot Noir
Description
Domaine Lafarge Bourgogne Passetoutgrain L'Exception is a red wine made from Pinot Noir and Gamay in Burgundy by the Domaine Lafarge winery.
The origin of Domaine Lafarge goes back to the beginning of the 19th century. Frédéric Lafarge joined the domaine in 1978. The winemaking follows conventional methods, with 100% of the reds being destemmed. In 1996, the Domaine converted to biodynamic farming, leading the movement in this field. This incredible blend of gamay and pinot noir (with about a third of gamay) comes from very old vines and has been produced by the Domaine for 70 years. It is an excellent summer red with amazing fullness and flavour.
Tasting notes of Domaine Lafarge P. L'Exception
The nose of this wine is surprisingly fresh and full of life, displaying a wide range of pepper and red berry aromas, with earthy touches. The delicious flavours present a complexity that exceeds expectations, showing remarkable persistence for what it is. In addition, it is anticipated that, over time, this wine will continue to improve and reward those who choose to cellar it for a number of years.
