Description
Domaine Matrot Auxey-Duresses is a red wine made in Meursault AOC with Pinot Noir by Domaine Matrot.
Auxey-Duresses red wine comes from the vineyards of the same name in the Côte de Beaune region. This wine is aged in oak barrels for at least one year, allowing it to reveal its natural structure, complexity and depth in the glass. The Auxey-Duresses Rouge made by Domaine Matrot is already remarkable in its own right, but it is especially striking after a prolonged period of cellaring.
Domaine Matrot is located in the village of Meursault in Burgundy, right in the heart of the Côte de Beaune. It was established in the early 20th century by Joseph and Marguerite Matrot, and has remained in the hands of the Matrot family ever since. Today, Domaine Matrot encompasses 23 hectares (equivalent to 56 acres) of vineyards stretching across Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet, Auxey-Duresses, Monthelie and Maranges. This includes plots in the renowned Premier Cru Charmes and Perrieres vineyards in Meursault. Since 2000, all Domaine Matrot vineyards have been farmed exclusively by organic methods, in a gradual process that started in 1976.
