Domaine Matrot Meursault is a white wine made in Burgundy from Chardonnay by Domaine Matrot.
Domaine Matrot is one of the oldest bottlers in Burgundy and one of the largest and most important Meursault properties. Owned by Thierry Matrot and his wife Pascale, the domaine has some of the finest vineyards in the heart of Burgundy. The average age of the vines is over 30 years and they have been farmed organically since 2000.
A glorious white Burgundy from Meursault, whose wines offer a combination of softness and succulence with thirst-quenching clarity and cut. Sourced from a superior year and from a family estate, it brings intense purity and fruit complexity.
Importantly, organic farming practices are followed throughout the process, reflecting a commitment to sustainability and respect for the land.
Domaine Matrot Meursault Tasting Notes
Precision, intensity and a surprising element are the hallmarks of this organically produced Meursault.
It has a soft golden hue and reveals a complex aromatic bouquet that reflects the essence of its grape variety and its place of origin (notes of white flowers, citrus and a touch of chalk), as well as the nuances acquired during its maturation (toasted nuts and a touch of creaminess).
The palate is rich and enhanced by a wonderful saline note. This wine is ideal for pairing with savoury dishes or creamy cheeses.
