Description
Dr Loosen Red Slate is a white wine of the D.O. Moselle made in Germany. It is made with grapes from slate soils and terraces. This is a wine that expresses the elegance and style of the classical Rieslings of the Moselle.
Dr. Loosen Winery has remained in the hands of the family for more than 200 years. When Ernst Loosen took the reins of the property in 1988, he made sure that he had free standing vines with an average of 60 years of age in one of the highest quality vineyards in Germany. Consequently had the means and raw material to create world class wines. To achieve this, Ernst dramatically reduced the yields and dispensed of chemical fertilizers, favoring natural fertilizers. It insists on the full maturity of the grapes which in turn have been carefully selected. In the winery the manipulation of the raw material and the use of the technology is limited to what is strictly necessary.
Dr Loosen Red Slate tasting note
Dr Loosen Red Slate is refreshing, fruity and has a particular mineral touch. A deceiving wine with a complex but sober nose with aromas of apples, peaches and white flowers. In the mouth it gives way to a refreshing and pure expression of white fruit (Claudia Plum). It combines substance with ease of mouth, character with finesse. Vibrant and persistent end.
