Georg Mosbacher Ungeheuer GG 2017
D.O Pfalz
Riesling
Description
Georg Mosbacher Ungeheuer GG is a white wine made from Riesling in Ungeheuer (in Germany) by the Mosbacher family.
Due to its hillside location, the Ungeheuer vineyards are protected from the easterly winds and for this reason, the grapes ripen extremely well; in this location the flowering occurs earlier than in the lower areas and the Riesling also benefits from an earlier ripening.
The winery was founded in 1920 by the Mosbacher family, which today, after three generations, continues to produce its wines from its 20 hectares of vineyards in the surroundings of the emblematic village of Forst.
Its Riesling wines have put this winery in the spotlight due to its reputation and prestige as one of the best wineries in the Palatinate region.
Georg Mosbacher Ungeheuer GG Tasting Notes
The wine shows a delicate fruit character of tropical fruit, peach and pineapple and pleasant notes of baked apple.
Complex and full-bodied in the mouth with a light sweetness that complements and harmonises the mineral nuances and integrates fantastic acidity.
A wine with enormous potential for bottle ageing.
