Description

Guidalberto Tenuta San Guido is a red wine made with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with IGT Tuscany by the winery Tenuta San Guido.

Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto is a red wine from Tuscany that comes from young vineyards with grapes of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot varieties, grown at altitudes ranging from 100 to 300 metres. These vineyards are located in a south-south-western position and lie on very diverse soils, with a notable presence of limestone rich in marl and stones with a certain amount of clay. These particular characteristics of the Tenuta San Guido terroir are clearly manifested in an extremely attractive red wine, with an exquisite flavour and an enveloping texture.

To create Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto, the best grapes were selected by hand in the winery. The resulting must underwent fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 26-28ºC for approximately 15 days. The wine was then transferred to French and American oak barrels, where it aged for 15 months before bottling. It was allowed an additional 3 months in bottle to improve its roundness before being released. Despite coming from younger vineyards, the winemaking process for Tenuta San Guido Guidalberto follows the same steps as its renowned counterpart, the prestigious Sassicai. This Bordeaux-style aged wine is particularly recommended for pairing with roasted red meats, game birds and braised lamb.
