Description

Las Viñas Bastardas is a red wine made from Monastrell and Tempranillo, a Spanish wine produced by Casa Rojo winery.

In Las Viñas Bastardas, the Tempranillo comes from old vineyards ranging in age from 35 to 100 years old, all located in the provinces of Burgos and Valladolid. On the other hand, Monastrell is sourced from old vines near our winery in Murcia, in the picturesque La Raja Valley.

The Tempranillo undergoes both alcoholic and malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks, followed by aging in used French oak barrels for at least 12 months. The Monastrell, on the other hand, undergoes alcoholic fermentation in large 11,000-liter French oak barrels and then completes malolactic fermentation in new 500-liter French oak barrels. Finally, it is aged for a minimum of 12 months in used oak barrels.

Viñas Bastardas Tasting Notes

With an attractive intense ruby red color, this blend stands out for its abundant presence of fruit, especially red tones. It also offers excellent acidity, noticeable freshness and an attractive sweet touch. The finish is lingering and its body is robust enough to pair with quality red meat.

This red wine is a perfect choice for those who are taking their first steps in the world of wine.It offers the opportunity to explore in a unique way the typical aromas of the Ribera del Duero region, as well as other Mediterranean and balsamic aromas that transport us directly to the region of Murcia.
