Louis Roederer Cristal 2014 Estuchado
D.O Champagne
Chardonnay Pinot Noir
Description
Louis Roederer Cristal Brut 2014 is Louis Roederer's best effort, a champagne of extraordinary finesse and elegance - it contains a significant amount of Chardonnay - and has a delicate, perfectly balanced bouquet. Cristal, which is even considered by its competitors to be a truly exceptional champagne, is still made as it was for the Tsar, with the same exacting standards and the same care as more than a century ago. This is why, when it leaves the cellar, it inevitably generates so many passionate comments about its extraordinary quality.
Louis Roederer Cristal Tasting notes
Louis Roederer Cristal Brut has an iridescent colour with slightly amber reflections. Subdued effervescence, almost shy, but fine, slow and regular.
Rich bouquet of candied fruits (lemon, orange), white flowers (lily) and lightly toasted nuts (hazelnut, almond). On aeration, the dominant fruitiness becomes intense, almost explosive: peach sabayon, apricots, melon, mango...
Round and fruity on the palate, full and complex at the same time. The incredibly concentrated texture gives the impression of biting into ripe, fleshy fruit. This density of juicy, creamy, silky fruit invades the palate and quickly gives way to a pure, chiselled, slender freshness. The ripe fruit is then transformed into a precise, delicate and light universe. Ripeness, sweetness and concentration merge with freshness and minerality, transforming the ripe fruit into a slightly acidic citrus fruit; warm notes give way to flowers, citrus peel and dried fruit.
After this wave of flavours, an impression of harmony dominates: the aromas, the flavours, the light bitterness, the freshness, are of great precision and intertwine in a perfectly integrated and complex whole. Some caramelised apple and pastry nuances complete the already complex aromatic palette.
