Description
Luís Cañas Blanco Viñas Viejas is a white wine produced by Bodegas Luís Cañas in the D.O.Ca. Rioja with Viura and Malvasía grapes.
Their ancestors planted the vines in the highest and poorest areas of their vineyards. This wine is the result of an exhaustive selection of vines and grapes from this old vineyard.
A wine with subtle aromas, which bring out the personality of the clay-limestone soils, characteristic of this area of Rioja Alavesa.
Luis Cañas Blanco Viñas Viejas Tasting Notes
Straw yellow in colour, the nose is subtle and elegant with fine notes of camomile and slight hints of aniseed reminiscent of fennel. As the wine opens up, light vegetal notes of boxwood and nettles appear, adding freshness to the whole. On the palate it is direct and sinewy. The ageing on the lees gives the wine volume and a creamy character, well balanced by a magnificent acidity.
