Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese 2018
D.O Mosel
Riesling
Description
Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese is a single varietal white Riesling made by the Markus Molitor winery.
The Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese is made from grapes harvested in October in the magnificent Ürzig vineyard, located in the Bernkastel sub-area. For the Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese, the grapes are harvested exclusively by hand at optimum ripeness, avoiding the use of machines that may be less selective. Once harvested, the grapes are quickly transported to the winery, where they are carefully sorted and crushed.
Fermentation takes place in large wooden barrels at controlled temperatures. After fermentation, the wine is aged in oak barrels for several months.
Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Spätlese Tasting Notes
The barrel-aged Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese from the Mosel wine region presents itself in the glass with a bright, shimmering light yellow colour. Swirling the glass, this German wine reveals expressive notes of quince, apple, Nashi pear and pear. There are also hints of dried grass, mountain celery and juniper.
The Markus Molitor Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Spätlese offers a pleasant sweetness to the wine lover. This white wine never comes across as harsh or sparse, but is round and supple on the palate.
