Description

Pack consisting of 2 bottles of Abadia Retuerta Selección Especial + 2 bottles of Carraovejas + 2 bottles of Mauro.

Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial is a red wine D.O.P. Abadía Retuerta produced from a selection of the best grapes from each of the winery's vineyards, combining the richness of Tempranillo, the intensity of Syrah and the elegance of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Mauro is a red wine from Castilla y León produced by Bodegas de Mauro. Mauro is the winemaking debut of Mariano García, who after 30 years as technical manager at Bodegas Vega Sicilia, launched his first personal venture in 1998: Bodegas Mauro. Although located in the area of Tudela del Duero, the winery could not be part of the DO Ribera del Duero due to geographical restrictions.

Pago de Carraovejas is a reflection of the valley to which it owes its name. A setting in which the vines climb up the slopes to the moor to form a unique landscape. More than a hundred different plots, the result of one of the first vineyard soil studies in the country, are worked separately thanks to precision viticulture. The different textures of limestone loams, clays and sandstones force the vines to make an effort to self-regulate and give the best of themselves.

Tasting notes

Abadía Retuerta Selección Especial has an intense garnet-coloured robe. Notes of ripe red and black fruit (cherries, sour cherries, plums) which are joined by balsamic and spicy aromas (liquorice) and those coming from sweet wood. In the mouth, it shows a balanced and elegant structure, with soft and silky tannins that envelop the palate. Powerful, fruity, creamy and long on the palate.

Mauro has superb fruit integrity and natural concentration on the nose, still with clear primary reminiscences. Precise tannin, freshness and unctuous feel.

Pago de Carraovejas has a double sensation of volume and smoothness of tannins, as well as a remarkable ageing potential and floral nuances that accompany the fruits.
