Description

Pack of Monastrell wines consisting of Macho Man, Umbria Salinas and Finca el Serrano.

Macho Man. Between the mountain ranges of El Carche and La Pila, in the high plateau of Murcia, lies the unique Paraje de La Raja. In this area the 7 plots of land from which the Monastrell grapes that give rise to Macho Man have been selected.

With Jumilla as denomination of origin, this oaky red wine has been selected as the best in Spain in 7 international competitions and has been chosen among the 100 best wines of Spain by the Master of Wine Tim Atkin in the Wines from Spain Awards.

Umbria Salinas is a red wine made by Sierra Salinas with Cabernet Sauvignon, Garnacha Tintorera, Monastrell and Petit Verdot in the D.O.P. Alicante.

Optimum maturity with fresh and fruity wines, with lower alcohol content than usual. Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with a cold pre-fermentation maceration. Total maceration of 18 days. Ageing in French oak barrels for 12 months and subsequent bottle ageing.

Dry-farmed Monastrell vines over 30 years old. Garnacha Tintorera in dry vines over 10 years old. Cabernet Sauvignon on 10 year old trellises. Petit Verdot on 10 year old trellises.

Finca el Serrano is a red wine from Alicante P.D.O. made with 100% Monastrell grapes by Murviedro.

Finca el Serrano plot, Alicante Protected Designation of Origin, which is located on the east coast of Spain. Throughout the year it enjoys a warm climate and the beneficial influence of the Mediterranean. The climate is continental in the mountainous inland areas.

The soils are chalky, and therefore have a granulometry and texture particularly suitable for the extreme cultivation of vines. They are very poor soils that favour the ideal organoleptic ripening for our vineyard.

Tasting Notes

Macho Man. The result is an elegant, flirtatious, fruity, very rounded red wine, with a finish typical of great wines. A wine with a purely Mediterranean character.

Umbría Salinas. Bright cherry red colour. Very fruity nose, intense notes of black fruit (blackberries, plums) harmonised with subtle spices, hints of chocolate and nuts. Good volume in the mouth, silky but enveloping tannins, in a fresh and balanced whole with a persistent finish.

Finca el Serrano. Intense red colour with purple tones. High intensity aromas, highlighting the very ripe fruit on a background of toasted oak of great elegance. Fleshy, complex flavour, with an unctuous palate, balanced tannins and a roasted finish.
