Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru 2021
D.O Echezeaux AOC
Pinot Nero
Description
Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru is a red wine made from Pinot Nero by Philippe Pacale at Echezeaux AOC.
Philippe Pacalet has been a pioneer in the practice of natural viticulture in the Burgundy wine region for over thirty years. As the nephew of Marcel Lapierre, an influential figure in Morgon, and a former disciple of Jules Chauvet, he has led the search for the most authentic wine possible. Raised with a unique and meticulous vision of Burgundy wine, Pacalet follows a philosophy that is reflected in his organic approach in the vineyard and a winemaking that avoids any kind of intervention, dispensing with the use of sulphur until bottling, and with a lengthy ageing process in barrels on the lees. His wines are in great demand, especially in Japan and Scandinavia, due to their incomparable fruit expression and transparency of terroir.
Philippe Pacalet's wines are distinguished by their complexity and aromatic pleasure, with a deep yet remarkably easy to enjoy flavour. Both the reds and whites have a rich, supple texture on the palate, with a unique balance between vibrancy, fruitiness and umami. Any true lover of wines that reflect their origins should experience the magic of Pacalet at least once in a lifetime, though ideally more often.
Tasting notes Philippe Pacalet Echezeaux Grand Cru
The colour of the wine is a very attractive deep ruby. On the nose it reveals fragrances of flowers, small red fruits, redcurrant, raspberry, strawberry and nuances of low vegetation. The palate experience is rich and sophisticated, with a solid structure. The tannins persist in a vigorous and remarkable way.
