QS2 2019
D.O V.T. Castilla
Cabernet Sauvignon Malbec Petit Verdot Fine Ink Syrah
Description
QS2 is the younger brother of Quinta Sardonia, a red wine made from Tinto Fino, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and others by Quinta Sardonia in V.T. Castilla y León.
The harvest took place from 11 to 23 October 2013. The grapes are usually vatted with 10-30% whole bunches depending on the soil. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts using vat feet. Aged for 15 months, 85% in French oak barrels and 15% in concrete eggs.
The quality of QS2 is not casual and its elegance is natural, the result of the balance achieved between soil, climate and varieties. Quinta Sardonia's work is based on the complexity of the terroir and on knowing how to interpret the different types of soils and their interaction with each of the varieties.
Tasting Notes QS2
QS2 is a red wine with an intense, medium-high cherry colour.
On the nose, it has a good aromatic intensity and shows the freshness of the vintage with aromas of raspberry, liquorice and peppers that open up on a base of violets and very fresh fruit.
In the mouth, it is a sweet and silky textured red wine, its sweetness accompanies the passage through the mouth but shows a slightly bitter, chocolaty and creamy background at the end, a serious wine.
