Description
Raats Original Chenin Blanc is a white wine made by Raats Family Wines in South Africa from Chenin Blanc.
His mastery of chenin blanc and cabernet franc is earning him accolades from around the world as Stellenbosch's "most exciting and forward-thinking winemaker".
As part of the new wave of South African winemakers, Bruwer makes soil-specific wines that embody the unique characteristics of the region. With hand-harvesting, whole cluster pressing and the use of natural fermentation without fining or filtering, he helps him create world-class wines.
Sourced from vineyards with an average age of 35 years. The vines are grown on both decomposed granite and Table Mountain sandstone soils. A combination of trellised and bush vines, both irrigated and dry-farmed, yielding approximately 7-8 tonnes per hectare.

Tasting Notes of Raats Original Chenin Blanc
100% Chenin Blanc, it has a distinctive core of yellow apple and pineapple, along with notes of green melon and lime.
The wine is bursting with fresh fruit flavours that finish with zesty citrus flavours and has a long mineral finish. A very clean and satisfying hand-picked Chenin Blanc that is a versatile wine to pair.
