Description
Roagna Barolo Pira 2016 is configured as a red wine that comes from the Nebbiolo grape variety, grown in the Pira vineyard, which covers 4.8 hectares on limestone and bluish marl rock soils, with a southwest exposure. The vines, ranging in age from 25 to 50 years, are managed using respectful viticultural practices.
In the winemaking process, the grapes undergo a 10-day fermentation in wooden vats, using indigenous yeasts. Subsequently, the ancient maceration technique known as submerged cap fermentation is implemented, which lasts from 60 to 75 days. The aging phase takes place in neutral oak barrels for approximately 5 years.
Roagna Barolo Pira 2016 is characterized as a red wine of elegance, structure and balance, with refined tannins and bright acidity. It also has significant cellaring potential.
