Its luminosity was such that it reached the Talisker distillery, bathing the new distillate with its light, which remained in the whiskey until the characteristic smoky flavor gave way to a glow of exceptionally rare spicy sweetness. On the shores of Loch Harport, on the western border of the untamed Isle of Skye, such tales are taken seriously.

Either way, since 1830, this 'forged by the sea' whiskey has cemented its marine essence on Skye.
