Description
Tintafina is a red wine from Ribera del Duero made by Casa Rojo with Tempranillo grapes.
100% of the grapes come from the villages of Villálvaro, Sotillo de la Ribera, Moradillo, Hontoria, Peñafiel, Quintana del Pidio, Anguix and Curiel de Duero, with average altitudes between 850 and 900 metres, all located in the provinces of Burgos and Valladolid. The grapes are harvested from old vines ranging in age from 35 to 100 years.
Aged in French oak barrels for 460 days, with 15% of the final blend completing malolactic fermentation in first year French oak barrels.
Tintafina Tasting Notes
Visually, it has a beautiful ruby colour with high intensity garnet rims. On the nose, it is very expressive, with notable fragrances of wild blackberries and black cherries, accompanied by notes of aromatic herbs such as thyme and sage, all enveloped in elegant nuances of cedar, leather, clove and toast from its ageing in French oak barrels.
On the palate, it is fleshy and powerful, with a solid structure and elegant tannins, culminating in a long, balanced and harmonious finish.
