Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz 2020
D.O Barossa Valley
Syrah
Description
Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz is a red wine made from Syrah in the Barossa Valley region by Torbreck.
The wine reflects the diversity of the Barossa Shiraz vineyards. Like all Torbreck wines, Woodcutter's receives the utmost attention in the vineyard and in the winemaking process. The style combines the fleshy, spicy character of Barossa Shiraz with a complexity and texture that is hard to find at this price point.
The grapes are hand harvested from several plots in the north-western part of the Barossa Valley; Fermentation takes place in cement, wood and stainless steel tanks for 6-7 days and after light crushing, it spends 12 months in French oak barrels and foudres; No fining or filtration methods are used.
Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz Tasting Notes
Full of freshness and bright young fruit, this vintage of Woodcutter's Shiraz has personality.
Aromatic plum and black cherry with dark chocolate and intensity, yet refined.
The balanced palate has a round central core of black and blue fruit that gives way to a complex mid-palate. Although offering immense pleasure in its youth, Woodcutter's Shiraze will undoubtedly develop into an impressive wine with a few more years in the cellar. A fantastic introduction to the Torbreck range.
