Description
The Almadraba is one of the techniques used in several fishing communities in Spain benefiting from the migration of tuna (Atlantic-Mediterranean) that has been used since pre-Roman times. This gear for tuna fishing is based on placing two boats at a certain distance between which a shallow net is set (at a shallow depth) caught with a longline in which the tunas and other types of fish that may arrive are collected. When the pieces are brought to the boat they are still alive, and this allows the selection and discarding of small or useless pieces, this process is carried out by the most experienced fishermen.
